Are you a multi-skilled software engineer who dreams of creating web technologies that improve the lives of millions?

Are you passionate about fitness? Have you tried to create a workout plan online but been frustrated by the lack of tools and disparate information?

We are seeking a talented web technologist to join us and lead the effort to develop eFitPlan. eFitPlan is a web startup that seeks to improve lives through fitness by providing users with effective exercise programs built around their individual goals and schedules. We are based in San Francisco/Silicon Valley, but both founders have roots in New York City, and we will be there in-person THIS WEEKEND to meet potential candidates in Manhattan!

We are currently a team of 2:

- a Google business guy with experience across operations, finance, strategy, and marketing (Carnegie Mellon, Deloitte Consulting alum)

- a fitness expert and writer/researcher/copywriter from an Ivy League school with entrepreneurial background (Columbia University, Fulbright Scholar)

We`ve been working on eFitPlan for over 9 months now, and have developed many intellectual assets, including wireframes, a database, and decision trees. We also have well researched business plans, competitive analysis, marketing plans, legal plans, and a substantial advisory network. Most importantly, we have gathered input from over 100 potential users and have a short list of alpha testers ready to go.

We`re ready to start quickly prototyping the service! We`re looking for a smart and highly motivated software engineer with a startup mentality to join us in this effort, ideally someone with strong leadership skills / potential to become co-founder and CTO. We`re also open to considering arrangements with a team of engineers with a proven track record.

Ideally, you will be able to work 10-20 hours per week MINIMUM while building out the service; we`re open to either full-time or part-time work arrangements starting ASAP, but you must be willing to go full-time in the near future.

The ideal candidate will possess most or all of the following:

General Qualities:

- Commitment to the idea and a passion for fitness

- Excellent communicator

- Proactive problem solver

- Can-do spirit - ability to self teach new skills and programming languages

- Gets things done - ability to execute effectively and efficiently

Skills:

- Back end (algorithm design, database design, SQL, parallel computing)

- Front end knowledge (HTML, Javascript, Ajax, CSS, RoR, PHP, XML, Flash, etc.)

- 3D / Avatar modeling

- Ability to manage and keep track of multiple projects

- Ability to thrive in a fast paced, test-driven, collaborative and iterative environment (agile development)

Education:

- BS or higher in Computer Science or equivalent (MS preferred)

- Strong academic record

Other:

- Significant equity stake will be initial compensation
